TENDER at the BONE a book review by Mckenna B

Tender at the Bone is written by Ruth Reichl.

I expected this book to be about a small town girl that grew up on a small farm with her mom and dad. Also that her mom would cook very often and was a good cook. This was just from looking at the cover and the title.

Ruth wrote this story in the past when she was a little girl, about 12 years old about how her mother loves to cook. Ruth doesn't see it as her mother loving to cook because her mom throws together awful meals at the last minute for her guests and kind of expects that they will like it. Ruth thinks this is absolutley disgusting.

So far I think this book is pretty interesting. I find it very weird that her mom finds it okay to randomly put together meals for her guests at the last minute and thinks they'll like it.

What are your thoughts on this book so far?
